About My Work Experience
In 2020, I worked as UI/UX Lead and web developer at a startup called Basis Point Global Solutions. In this role, I designed the company website (from ground up using Squarespace). Later on, I designed a second version of the website in order to improve the user experience and user interface of the website. Currently, I continue to maintain and manage the content on the site. I will also be creating a third version once I am better able to collect user insights and will be designing their retail site when they require it. Working for Basis Point gave me a hands on understanding for the considerations in designing a website for a company, working directly with the founders. Check out the Basis Point Global Solutions website here
From 2018-2020, I worked for Macmillan Learning as a Junior Support Analyst in their Customer Experience department. Macmillan Learning is a company that makes textbooks and online e-learning platforms to both view textbooks and for students to be assessed on the material from the book. For this job I did higher level support and analysis, providing technical help to instructors and students using the online learning portal.
About My Education
In December 2020, I received a User Experience Certificate for completing the UX Design immersive course from General Assembly
In May 2018, I graduated with a Bachelors Degree from New York University (College of Arts and Sciences) with a major in Psychology and minors in both Computer Science and in Web Programming and Applications.
Thanks to my background in computer science and web development I know web programming languages such as such HTML, CSS, Javascript as well as some general programming languages such as Java, C and Python. My background gives me unique insights into how to connect technology with the human experience and allows me to view user experience from both the user’s and the developer’s perspective.
I love to travel, this photo was taken on a recent trip I took with my family to the beautiful island of Santorini in Greece.
I enjoy reading and spending time with family. This photo is of my sister and I at the book tour for the book An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
More About Me
My favorite hobby is solving puzzles.
I have always loved problem solving. One of the major things that brought me to love UX design and programming was the problem solving nature of it.
I love helping people especially those who are different than I am.
One of my big motivators both for studying psychology and for studying user experience is that I love putting myself in the shoes of others and seeing things from their perspective.
Everyone is different and I want to take that into account to make products inclusive and to account for the diversity of the world.
I am a member of an international online community known as Nerdfighteria.
Nerdfighteria is an online community centered around the family of YouTube channels and other projects run by John and Hank Green.
This diverse community celebrates being unapologetically enthusiastic about your interests, promotes lifelong education, and works together to make the world a better place.
I like to travel and see new places and meet new people
I enjoy seeing new places and experiencing the diverse and unique world we live in.
I like meeting new people and trying new things. This photo was taken at a cafe in Boston, MA called Tatte while I was meeting one of my sister’s friends.
I am passionate about puzzles. This photo is the most recent puzzle I worked on. It is a 500 piece double sided puzzle depicting the building “Falling Water”, constructed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
