Why all the lotuses?

I love lotus flowers. Not only does my name (Nalini) mean Lotus, but I connect to their symbolism.

In many cultures, Lotus flowers represent self regeneration and rebirth in addition to purity and enlightenment. Many sources call attention to the fact that it is a beautiful flower not only surviving but thriving in the dirtiest waters. Similarly, a better product design and user experience can emerge from the murky pool of difficult user experiences.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Monterey Bay Aquarium is a large non profit aquarium located in Monterey, California. I co-designed an app to help them engage with their visitors as well as potential visitors who cannot currently visit thanks to Covid-19.

Flow is a browser extension designed to declutter and organize browser tabs. I worked directly with the founders of Flow to co-research how to improve the current user experience of the product and co-designed a prototype based on the research.
